Aline Brunn

Aline Brunn is a writer-director, producer and actress based in Denmark, and the founder of SouldDrive Production, a Danish film production company she established together with executive producer/producer August Ussing, focusing on social and mental health awareness, inclusion and diversity.

Drawing from personal experiences and a strong sense of social responsibility, Aline creates films that explore human relationships, vulnerability, grief, identity and the challenges people face in their everyday lives. Through her work, she seeks to foster reflection, empathy and a deeper understanding of the human experiences and social issues explored in her films, with the hope of contributing to greater awareness and meaningful change.

Her latest film, “An Unforgettable Day,” is now completed and will have its world premiere at Odense International Film Festival (OFF) in 2026, marking the second consecutive year that a film by Aline has world-premiered at the festival. OFF is a festival qualifying for both the Academy Awards® and the Danish Film Awards (Robert). The film has also been selected for the Nordic Panorama Market in September 2026.

Written and directed by Aline Brunn and produced by Aline Brunn and August Ussing, “An Unforgettable Day” stars renowned Danish actress, director and Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog Lisbet Dahl, alongside Diêm Camille (Alien Earth, Bad Bitch).

Her second film, “Du Ved Ingenting / You Know Nothing,” starring Diêm Camille, Rudi Køhnke and Vicki Berlin, had its world premiere at Odense International Film Festival (OFF) in 2025. Aline wrote and directed the film with co-director Nick G. and produced it alongside co-producer August Ussing. The film recently won Best Sound Design at the CPH Headliner Festival, awarded to sound designer Peter Schultz.

Aline’s debut project, “The Empty Space Between Us / Det Tomme Rum Imellem Os” (2023), won Best Experimental Short Film at the New York Independent Film Festival and was subsequently selected for and nominated at numerous international festivals, including two nominations at the EKKO Shortlist in Denmark in 2025.

Aline is currently developing several new film projects for the near future, continuing her work across writing, directing, producing and acting.

Academic background:

Aline holds a Master of Social Sciences in Comparative Public Policy and Welfare Studies (SDU) from Denmark, including exchange studies in Cognitive Psychology, Art Management and Business at Copenhagen Business School. She also holds a Bachelor/Master of Laws from Brazil and graduated in Acting from The Technical School of Arts in Brazil.

Alongside her academic background and diverse professional experience, Aline has also devoted herself to volunteer work, including serving as a mentor for refugee girls in Denmark.

Acting:

At the moment, you can find her work as an actress, in the new Danish docu-drama-series THE VIKING: Downfall of a Drug Lord (2022) - (Orig. title: Nordic Narcos) , screening at Viaplay, Filmin and TV3 (DK) across more than 20 countries. The series is directed by the Bodil and Robert award ("Danish Oscar") winning director Peter Anthony and is starring the Danish actor Alex Høgh Andersen (Vikings), who holds the lead role as the biggest drug smuggler of Europe, Claus Malmqvist, and Aline holds the female lead, playing his wife, Valkyria.
